14-15 -- Old Globe Theater Presents "Kingdom," Lincoln High School
Center for the Arts, 4777 Imperial Ave. (92113). Balboa Park's famous
Old Globe Theater helps ring in the new theater at Lincoln High School
with "Kingdom," a new hip-hop/rock musical produced in cooperation with
the school. Performances: 2 and 8 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 14, and 2 and 6

their child in a magnet school or change to a school outside their

Chatsworth Blvd. (92106). Students choreograph, design costumes and
perform skits to popular music while lip sinking the lyrics. Winners of
local competitions go onto regional competitions throughout the

21 -- Dallas Brass, 7 p.m., Correia Middle School, 4302 Valeta St.
(92107). Members of the world-renown wind ensemble will work with
Correia students during the day at a band clinic, and then perform on
Saturday night -- with students joining them for their final number.

5-7 -- Robotics Competition, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day, San Diego Sports
Arena, 3500 Sports Arena Blvd. (92110). FIRST San Diego Regional
Robotics Competition draws teams from 48 high schools around the
country. Students design and build the robots, competing for prizes. Six
teams from San Diego Unified will compete for prizes. Six of the teams
will be from San Diego Unified, through the College Career and Technical
Education Program and Regional Occupational Program. No charge for the

5 - OASIS Tutor Support Meeting, 1-2:30 p.m., Macy's, Mission Valley
Center. Third Floor. Quarterly meeting of senior volunteers who work in
schools, sponsored by the district's Community Relations Department.
Tutors learn new strategies to assist K-4 students in reading as well as
network with other OASIS tutors to reflect on tutoring experiences.

7 -- Partnership Chorale Honor Concert, 7 p.m., Brown Chapel, Pt. Loma

choir. Co-sponsored by the California Association for Music Education.

Superintendents. Speaker for the evening is Dr. Terry Grier,
