NY MARATHON WINNER MEB KEFLEZIGHI VISITS ALMA MATER, SAN DIEGO HIGH

WHAT: Visit of 2009 New York Marathon winner and 2004 Olympic Silver
Medalist Meb Keflezighi to his alma mater, San Diego High School. Meb will
meet with cheering students at an assembly.

WHEN: 11:40 a.m. Friday, Dec. 18

WHERE: Gym, San Diego High School, 1405 Park Blvd. (92101). Media parking
will be available from Park Blvd. entrance.

DETAILS: Meb Keflezighi made history when he became the first American in 27
years to win the New York Marathon. He¹s returning to his alma mater (class
of 1994) to inspire today¹s students to achieve. His inspiring story (his
family fled Ethiopia-Eritrea war in 1985 for Italy, then arriving in San
Diego in 1987) includes a 4.0 grade point average at San Diego High School
and Silver Medal in the 2004 Olympic Games.

PHOTOS/INTERVIEWS: Mr. Keflezighi will be available for interviews and
photographs, as will students from San Diego High, including today¹s track
team.
