What: San Diego Unified All Schools Fair
When: 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 30, 2010
Where: Balboa Park Recital Hall (adjacent to Puppet Theatre)
Details: Parents have choices -- that's the key message of the All Schools Enrollment Fair, which attracted more than 1,500 families last year from throughout the county, including those already living within the district, parents with jobs in San Diego who want to know about great schools located close to work and parents who are ready to make a move from high-cost private and parochial schools. ??The free event for grades pre-K-12 gives families the chance to explore the excellent academic and college/career preparatory programs at San Diego Unified, plus enjoy student performances throughout the day. The fair is also open to all community members... here's a chance to see the excellence in San Diego schools, even if you don't have school-aged kids.
Parents have until February 15 to apply to send their child to an out-of-neighborhood school for the 2010-11 school year.?
Photos: Performances include a Jump Rope demonstration by Green Elementary, African drumming by CPMA and a dance and drama performance from Lincoln High, among others.
