State Schools Chief Jack O¹Connell Joins Education and Nutrition Advocates,
and San Diego Chargers to Launch School Breakfast Initiative
 
State Superintendent of Public Instruction Jack O¹Connell will join
California Food Policy Advocates and its statewide partners on Monday in San
Diego for a news conference to launch the BreakfastFirst Campaign, a
three-year initiative to improve school breakfast across California by
increasing participation, access, and nutritional quality. Also at the event
will be Kenneth Hecht, Executive Director of the California Food Policy
Advocates; Gary Petill, Food Services Director at the San Diego Unified
School District; and Luis Castillo, Defensive End for the San Diego
Chargers.
