5 -- School resumes for campuses with traditional calendars. Year-round
schools reopen April 20.
6 -- Powwow Workshop with the Soaring Eagles, 6 p.m., Ballard Parent Center,
2375 Congress St. Enjoy free potluck supper and practice for Soaring Eagles
student dance troupe, and pitch in to help the children learn history,
heritage and performance lessons. Part of Parent Outreach's American Indian
Education Program, workshops are free and open to public. Ballard Parent

* 6 -- Parent Meeting, 6 p.m., Lincoln High School, Lincoln High School,
4777 Imperial Ave. Parent Center, Room 601. Monthly get-together with Mel

7 -- Family Wednesday, 9 a.m., Adams Elementary School, 4672 35th St.
(92116). The public is invited to join Adams students and staff in a flag
salute and a song by one of the classrooms, then to meet with Principal
Derek Murchison to hear about upcoming events, learn about school data and
have a question and answer session. Finally, the parents/guardians are sent
to the classrooms from 10-10:30 a.m. to read with the students. Contact:

* 8 -- Parent Visitation Day, 8:30-11:30 a.m. Pt. Loma High School, 2335
Chatsworth Blvd. (92106). All classrooms will be open for parents and
prospective families to observe teaching and learning in action. Please drop
by the library at 8:30 to receive a map and school schedule. Come see for
yourself all the great programs and courses we have! Mrs. Nydam,
Vice-Principal will be available in the main office during that time to

9 -- "A Froggy Day in Lindentown," 2:30 p.m., Oak Park Music Conservatory,

12 -- School Olympics Opening Ceremony, 8:45 a.m., Green Elementary School,
