12 -- School Olympics Opening Ceremony, 8:45 a.m., Green Elementary School,
7030 Wandermere Dr. (92119). Athletics magnet school holds its annual Games,
with students representing countries from around the world in the opening

13 -- 'Sewer Science' Program Wrap-up, 1:15 p.m., Millennial Tech Middle
School, 1110 Carolina Ln. (92102). This conservation science class has been
working with the City of San Diego's Wastewater Department staff to test and
analyze data, study and create green solutions and understand the cycle of

14 -- Superintendent Search Committee Town Hall, 6:30 p.m., University City
High School, 6949 Genesee Ave. (92122). One of five Town Hall meetings have
been scheduled to provide parents, employees, students and the public with
the opportunity to give input on the qualities sought in the district's next

* 19 -- Breakfast in the Classroom News Conference, 8:30 a.m., Sherman
Elementary School, 301 22nd St. (92102). Members of the San Diego Chargers
are expected to be on hand, along with state Supt. Jack O'Connell, Dairy
Council and San Diego Unified officials to talk about the district's
Breakfast in the Classroom program. Arrive at 8:30 a.m. and have an

19 -- Performance Workshop, 10:15 a.m., Oak Park Music Conservatory, 2606
54th St. (92105). A performance workshop with Joyful Noise includes members
of Mainly Mozart, Oak Park students and San Diego Unified's Visual and

20 -- Joyful Noise, 9:45 a.m. The George L. Stevens Senior Center, located,
570 S. 65th Street, San Diego (92114). A partnership between Mainly Mozart
and San Diego Unified's Visual and Performing Arts Department, Joyful Noise
will be performing at the Senior Center and features violinist Monique Mead,
Mainly Mozart musicians and Oak Park students. Information: Karen

the Board of Education and district staff on behalf of Title I compensatory

* 22 -- Reception for Montgomery Middle School Artists, 6 p.m., LEAP
Wireless International, 5887 Copley Dr (92111). The wireless company has
worked with students from the Linda Vista school to create an art exhibit in
its lobby featuring "Powerful Women in History." Parents and
student-artists, along with their teachers and school staff, are invited to

* 22 -- Mt. Everest Talent Showcase and Silent Auction, 6 p.m., Mt. Everest

22 -- Superintendent Search Committee Town Hall, 6:30 p.m., Pacific Beach

have been scheduled to provide parents, employees, students and the public

* 25 -- Harlem Wizards, 12:30 p.m., Pt. Loma High School Gym, 2335
Chatsworth Blvd. (92106). The exhibition basketball team which features
"tricks, hoopz and alley oops" will face off against a team made up of
students from Pt. Loma High and Correia Middle School. The game is a
fundraiser for both schools. Tickets: $15-$17 adults, $10-$12 for

26 -- K-12 Joint Education Forum, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Admiral Kidd

This year's K-12 Joint Education Forum's theme is "Come Together for Kids:

Ceremonies honor San Diego Unified's outstanding individual teachers for the
2009-10 school year. Teachers of the Year will be named for the elementary,
middle and high schools. Student musicians will perform and members of the
culinary arts program will provide hors d'oeuvres. Media welcome; not open
to the public.

have a question and answer session. Finally, the parents/guardians are sent
