* 26 -- University City Cluster Meeting, 4:30 p.m., University City High
School Media Center, 6949 Genesee Ave. (92122). Meeting of schools and
community: University City High School, Standley Middle School, Curie,
Doyle, Spreckels elementary schools. Scheduled to include a presentation

* 26 -- Mira Mesa Cluster School Meeting, 6 p.m., Mira Mesa High School
Library - 10510 Reagan Rd. (92126). Meeting of schools and community: Mira
Mesa High School, Challenger and Wangenheim middle schools, Ericson, Hage,
Hickman, Mason, Sandburg and Walker elementary schools. Scheduled to
include a presentation on school closures and restructuring. Contact: Bob

* 26 -- Tdap Clinic, 2-4 p.m. Wilson Middle School, 3838 Orange Ave. Tdap
booster shots will be available at the following locations to any San
Diego Unified School District student who meets eligibility for Vaccines
for Children program. These are generally students who qualify for the
Child Health and Disability Prevention Act and MediCal. Students with
private insurance or Healthy Families coverage generally do not qualify
for Vaccines for Children, but ask at the session. Contact: Eileen

* 27-- Tdap Clinic, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Mann Middle School, 4345 54th St.
(92115). Tdap booster shots will be available at the following locations
to any San Diego Unified School District student who meets eligibility for
Vaccines for Children program. These are generally students who qualify
for the Child Health and Disability Prevention Act and MediCal. Students
with private insurance or Healthy Families coverage generally do not
qualify for Vaccines for Children, but ask at the session. Contact: Eileen

* 27 -- Taft Middle School Design Task Force, 5 p.m., Taft Middle School,
9191 Gramercy Dr. (92123). San Diego Unified School District invites you
or your representative to participate in a Design Task Force for the
Proposition S-funded whole-site modernization project at Taft Middle
School. You will join students, school staff, parents, neighbors,
community members and the architect to discuss the general design of the
middle school, and how it can best serve the students and the community

* 27 -- Free Tdap Clinic, 2:30-6 p.m., Serra High School, 5156 Santo
Road, San Diego (92124). The County of San Diego Health and Human Services
Agency will be providing free Tdap Vaccines for all 7th -12th grade
students on a first come, first served basis. A parent or guardian must
accompany students under 18 years. Contact: San Diego County Health and
Human Services, www.sdiz.com. Open to eligible students and parents.

1 -- EdUCate Oktoberfest, 2-6 p.m. Standley Park 3585 Governor Drive
(92122). Proceeds benefit University City schools. EdUCate! is a nonprofit
foundation established in 1993 to provide supplemental funds for all five
of the University City public schools: Curie, Doyle, Spreckels elementary
schools, Standley Middle School and University City High School. Contact:

* 1 -- Campus Cleanup Day, 8-11 a.m., Barnard Elementary School, 2930

20 -- ³Building Healthy Communities,² 6 p.m., Lincoln High School, 4777
Imperial Ave. (92113). The Community Wellness program presents: James P.
Comer, MD, MPH, a nationally renowned child psychiatrist, will discuss
promoting collaboration among parents, educators and the community to
improve social, emotional and academic outcomes for students. Sponsored by
the Lincoln High School Youth Health Council and UCSD Center for Community
