MEDIA ADVISORY -- Mayor Filner To Swear In San Diego School Board Member


WHAT: San Diego Mayor Bob Filner will swear in member returning Board member Dr. John Lee Evans of the San Diego Unified School District Board of Education. Returning member Richard Barrera and and newly elected Marne Foster will also be sworn in.

WHEN/WHERE: 4 p.m., Monday, Dec. 10, Eugene Brucker Education Center, 4100 Normal Street (92103).

DETAILS: The new San Diego Mayor, Bob Filner, will return to his roots as he swears in returning Board of Education member Dr. John Lee Evans, representing District A. New Board member Marne Foster from District E and returning Board District D member Richard Barrera will also be sworn in. Following the ceremony, Board members will join the public in a reception on the lawn outside the auditorium. The meeting and reception are open to the public. Mayor Filner was a member of the Board of Education from 1979-83.
