OF THE TEACHER" CELEBRATION

WHAT: Media availability of San Diego Unified School District 2014
Teachers of the Year and Superintendent Cindy Marten

WHEN/WHERE: 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 6, Lewis Middle School, 5170 Greenbrier
Ave. (92120).

DETAILS: San Diego Unified's 2014 Teachers of the Year will be honored at
a special Board of Education meeting at 5 p.m. Tuesday, May 6, at Lewis
Middle School, 5170 Greenbrier Ave. (92120). Before the meeting, the
teachers, and Superintendent Cindy Marten, will be available to talk with
the media. They are: Sara Church, third grade, Dingeman Elementary School
in Scripps Ranch; Khamphet Pease, science, computers, robotics, Wilson
Middle School, City Heights; and Ken Herschman, math, Crawford High
School, Rolondo.

In addition to the Teachers of the Year, there is a reception before the
special Board of Education meeting, starting at 4 p.m. Students from San
Diego Unified's award-winning culinary arts programs will be serving
snacks, while the jazz band from Lewis Middle School is providing the
tunes.

All students attending can be photographed and interviewed.
