*9 -- Lincoln High School Garden Kick-off and Sustainability Fair, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., 4777 Imperial Avenue (92113). Festivities include a ribbon-cutting ceremony with Slow Food USA’s National School Garden Program and County Supervisor Greg Cox; tours of the high school’s first school garden (Lincoln’s Living Lab, L3); Sustainability Fair, Apprenticeship Fair and Jazz concert. *14 -- Above and Beyond Awards Ceremony, 6:30 p.m., Ballard Parent Center Auditorium, 2375 Congress Street (92110). The district Community Advisory Committee for Special Education will recognize the individuals who have contributed about and beyond the usual expectation in the area of Special Education. 14 -- 2015 Elementary Instrumental Honor Concert, 7-8:30 p.m., Point Loma Nazarene University, 3900 Lomaland Drive (92106). Elementary students from throughout the district will perform. 19 -- Classified Employee of the Year Celebration, 4:15-7 p.m., Ibarra Elementary School, 4877 Orange Ave. (92115). San Diego Unified School District honors its classified employees, naming one the 2015 Classified Employee of the Year. *20 -- College, Career & Technical Education (CCTE) Showcase, 4-6 p.m., Liberty Station Conference Center, 2600 Laning Road (92106). The showcase, in its 11th year, is the culminating event where CCTE students from high and middle schools across the district display a product they designed or describe a problem they solved with collaboration from the business community. *21 -- “A Path Appears” Special Screening and Panel Discussion, 6-7:30 p.m., Education Center auditorium, 4100 Normal Street (92103). Human Trafficking is the subject of the free event, which will include a screening of the Human Trafficking Component of the PBS series, “A Path Appears.” Parents are encouraged to attend. *27 -- Salute to Excellence, 4-6 p.m., Shiley Theater, University of San Diego campus, 5998 Alcala Park (92110).  Parents, administrators, district leadership and board members will gather to recognize the top 1% of graduating seniors in the Class of 2016 at each district high school. 28 -- Day of the Military Child, 7:40 a.m. to 12:40 p.m., Crown Point Junior Music Academy, 4033 Ingraham Street (92109). Activities will include a morning assembly warm-up with members of the military, soldiers reading in the classroom, pancake breakfast for military families and all school assembly with special performances and guest speaker. 29 -- 20th Annual International Festival, 4-7 p.m., Doyle Elementary School, 3950 Berino Court (92122). Enjoy multicultural performances and booths representing a variety of countries. *30 -- IMIN Showdown, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., San Diego State University, Don Powell Theater, 5500 Campanile Drive (92115). High school students from Clairemont, Hoover, Kearny, Lincoln, Madison, Mission Bay, Morse, Point Loma, San Diego, SCPA, Serra and Twain high schools will compete in performance and art competitions scored by expert judges.
