Rep. Susan Davis Gets to Know Her Newly Expanded District with Visit to Angier Elementary
What: Congresswoman Susan Davis recently saw a change in her 53rd congressional district boundaries, which now includes the Serra Mesa neighborhood. A strong education advocate and former San Diego Unified Board of Education member, Davis is visiting Angier Elementary School to learn first-hand about the schools in the new area of her district. Davis will visit classrooms, read to children and get a tour of the campus, including its recently updated state-of-the-art library. She will be joined by Board of Education Member Kevin Beiser whose Sub-district B includes schools in Serra Mesa.

Background: Angier Elementary School is located in the Serra Mesa community and serves both military and civilian families. Students bring a diverse mix of cultures and ethnicities from all over the country and the world. Parents describe Angier as a warm and caring school and the staff works hard to make the school a place where students love to come every day. Angier is a California Distinguished School and received a library makeover from Target and the Heart of America Foundation last fall.
