9 -- Association of African American Educators' 22nd Annual Conference, Mission Valley Marriott Hotel, 8757 Rio San Diego Dr. (92108). The Association of African American Educators hosts an annual conference to encourage, equip, and empower attendees to make a meaningful difference in the lives of African and African-American children. Educators and concerned community members return each year to learn from each other and from engaging workshop facilitators, session presenters, and keynote speakers. This year's theme is Still We Rise. Speakers will be 79th District Assemblywoman Shirley N. Weber, Ph.D and Edwin Lou Javius, Ed.D, founder, president and CEO of EdEquity Inc. 11 -- Taste of North PB Art & Restaurant Walk, 5-8 p.m., Turquoise Animal Hospital, 950 Turquoise St. (92An event promoting local cuisine in PB. 17 area restaurants will be serving delicious food and drink samples. Mission Bay High's jazz group, The Preservationists, will be performing and student artwork will be on display in The Gallery at Land's End. 100% of the funds raised from tickets purchased will go back into Mission Bay High school, along with Pacific Beach Elementary and Pacific Beach Middle. Parents and students participating in National College Fairs meet one-on-one with representatives from colleges and universities to discuss admission and financial aid opportunities at their respective institutions. Upon arrival at the fair, pick up a map to find your best-fitting colleges.
