Please note that if items are listed as "not open to the public," that
means accredited members of the media are invited, but the general public
is not. These are generally items during the school day.

16-23 -- San Diego Festival of Science and Engineering. Annual event held
at locations all over San Diego County salutes science, engineering and

* 16 -- Mission Bay High¹s Seaside Farmer¹s Market, 10-2 p.m., West
parking lot of Mission Bay High School, 2475 Grand Ave., (92109). The
Mission Bay High School Alumni Association is preparing to celebrate the
grand opening of their Seaside Farmer¹s Market on Saturday. Profits will
benefit Mission Bay High School. Information: Cori Meara,

* 20 -- Dedication of Hoover High School Softball Field, 3:15 p.m., Hoover
High School, 4474 El Cajon Blvd. (92115). The dedication will be followed

* 20, Annual Student Art Exhibit and Reception, 5-7 p.m., Education
Center, 4100 Normal Street (92103). The walls and halls of the Education
Center are filled with student art work from grades K-12 in celebration of
March being Arts Education Month. This is a free viewing event and is open

20 -- Dr. Thomas Greenspan, "Perfectionism: Something Positive or
Something Negative?" the GATE Distinguished Lecture Series, 7 p.m.,
Auditorium, Eugene Brucker Education Center, 4100 Normal St. (92103). Dr.
Greenspan is a psychologist and marriage and family therapist in private
practice in Minneapolis. The GATE Distinguished Lecture Series brings
nationally recognized speakers to San Diego to talk about gifted and

* 21 -- Clairemont Community of Schools meeting, 5:30-7 p.m., Marston
Middle School, 3799 Clairemont Dr. (92117). Meeting of schools in the

Toler elementary schools; Marston Middle School; and Clairemont High

21 -- San Diego Unified Elementary Instrumental Honor Concert, 7-9 p.m.,
Brown Chapel, Point Loma Nazarene University, 3900 Lomaland Dr. (92106).
2013 Elementary Instrumental Honor Concert will feature elementary
students from throughout the district. This concert is free and is open to
the public. There will be a band and an orchestra concert. Contact:

* 22 -- Star Party, 7 p.m., Ocean Beach Elementary School, 4741 Santa
Monica Ave. (92107). Members of the San Diego Astronomy Association will
set up telescopes for a night of stargazing... if it's not foggy. Contact:

* 23 -- Vikings, Vines and Vintners Fundraiser for La Jolla High
Foundation, La Jolla Country Club, 7301 High Ave. (92037). The event
features wine tasting from vineyards around the state, entertainment, food

23 -- San Diego Unified Middle School Instrumental Honor Concert, 7-9

8 -- Area 4 Madison Cluster Meeting, 5-6:30 p.m., Madison High, 4833
Doliva Drive (92117). his meeting covers topics that are relevant to the
elementary, middle and high schools in the Madison cluster. The meeting
is open to all school staff, parents and community members in the Madison
area. Schools in the Madison cluster are: Field, Hawthorne, Holmes,
Lafayette, Lindbergh Schweitzer, Sequoia, Whitman, CPMA, Innovation, and

invited to attend this meeting, which discusses educational issues at the
high school and its middle and elementary schools. Schools in the Kearny
cluster are: Angier, Carson, Chesterton, Cubberley, Fletcher, Jones,
Juarez, Linda Vista, Ross, Wegeforth elementary schools; Montgomery and
