9 -- San Diego Unified Council of PTAs Reflections Reception, 6:30-8 p.m., Standley Middle School library, 6298 Radcliffe Drive (92122).  The Reflections programs give students an opportunity to express themselves creatively and receive positive recognition for original works of art inspired by a pre-selected annual theme. 11 -- Design Task Force Meeting, 6 p.m., Point Loma High School library, 2335 Chatsworth Boulevard (92106). Public meeting to discuss the Whole Site Modernization Project at Pt. Loma School. The architect will discuss the general design of the school and how it can best serve the students and the community for years to come. *11 -- “Imagine UC 2020” Community Meeting, 6:30 p.m., Standley Middle School, 6298 Radcliffe Dr. (92122).  The University City schools and community are invited to attend this meeting lead by Board Vice President John Lee Evans. The purpose of the meeting is to discuss how to make sure that the “Improve UC” plan fully benefits the schools and the UC community. Information at http://improveuc.org/imagine-uc-2020-2/.

12 -- Renaming Florence Elementary Public Meeting, 5:30-6:30 p.m., Florence Elementary School, 3914 First Avenue (92103). San Diego Unified has received a request from the Gay Lesbian Bisexual Transgender (GLBT) Historical Society to rename Florence Elementary to Christine Kehoe Elementary School. This is the second community meeting to inform the public of the request and gather community input on this request as the district implements its process in the naming of schools. 18 -- 2nd Annual Wheelchair Challenge, 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., Pt. Loma High School, 2335 Chatsworth Boulevard (92106). Students will take the challenge to use a wheelchair for the entire school day. There will be a special lunch time assembly and at the end of the day, participants will convene to discuss their experiences and insights. Not open to the public. 19 – An Evening with UC San Diego, 6-8 p.m., Lincoln High School Theater, 4777 Imperial Avenue (92113). This free event provides 10th grade students and their parents/guardians the opportunity to learn more about UCSD including admission criteria, financial aid and career services. UCSD Vice Chancellor of Student Affairs, Juan Gonzalez, and San Diego Unified Superintendent, Cindy Marten, will be featured speakres. *21 -- Safe Schools Summit 2015, 8:15 a.m. – 2:30 p.m., Roosevelt Middle School, 3366 Park Boulevard (92103).  Sponsored by GLSEN (Gay, Lesbian & Straight Education Network), the Safe Schools Summit brings Gay Straight Alliance (GSA) students together to be able to ask questions in a safe environment and attend a fun-filled day of student led educational workshops.
